Fire Breaks out at Pathankot Poultry Farm, Thousands of Chicks Burned Alive, Loss Worth Lakhs!

Recently, news emerged from Pathankot, claiming that a poultry farm on the Malikpur-Sunderchak Road caught fire. Thousands of chicks were burned to death in the fire. In addition, fodder worth lakhs of rupees was also destroyed. Three fire brigade vehicles reached the farm and brought the fire under control.

The owner of the poultry farm stated that a neighbor had set fire to the fields, which gradually spread to the farm’s shed, leading to the incident. The owner of the poultry farm demanded strict action and compensation against the person who set the fire.

The owner of the poultry farm, Sohan Lal, is a resident of Malikpur-Sunderchak Road. He explained that someone had set a fire on the rented land behind his farm, which was so intense that a large spark flew from there and fell directly on his poultry farm. Sohan Lal explained that he personally saw the fire and sprayed a lot of water to extinguish it, but the fire soon engulfed the entire farm.

Sohan Lal explained that there were lakhs of chickens on the farm, which were now about 32 to 33 days old. He further explained that each chicken was purchased for Rs 56.10. By this time, each chicken had consumed about 2.5 kg of feed. The market price of feed is Rs 45 to 50 per kg. Therefore, he suffered a loss of lakhs.
