In Khanna, Brother Killed his Sister’s Lover for the Sake of Honor

Recently, news of the honor killing of a young man in the Malaud area of ​​Khanna has surfaced. Police solved the mystery of the blind murder and arrested the main accused within hours, while the remaining four accused are still at large.

The deceased has been identified as Onkar Singh alias Guri (35), a resident of village Ghungrana. On May 15, police received information about the body of a young man found near a canal bridge near village Nanakpur Jagera. An Activa was found near the body, so the case was considered a road accident.

Acting immediately, police registered a case based on the statements of the deceased’s family and began an investigation. Police carried out the investigation with the help of human and technical resources. The investigation revealed that the deceased Onkar Singh had been in an illicit relationship with a girl from his village for about a year.

The girl’s family learned of this. The girl’s family had arranged her marriage, but she had divorced a few days earlier due to the affair.

During the police investigation, it was discovered that on the night of May 14th and 15th, Omkar Singh had taken the girl with him to Nanakpur Jagera village. When the girl’s brother, Gurpreet, learned of this, he and his friends pursued the two, and the accused blocked their path.

Omkar Singh was severely beaten, resulting in his death. The accused then dumped his body near the main road near the high school wall in Nanakpur Jagera and attempted to make it look like an accident by placing an Activa nearby. Following the murder mystery, the main accused, Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Ghungrana village, has been arrested.

A case has been registered against Gurpreet under murder and other sections. Police say the remaining four accused will also be arrested soon.
