Recently, news of a tragic accident has come to light, in which a young girl died on the spot in a road accident at Chheharta Chowk in Amritsar. The deceased girl has been identified as Saloni, who was 23 years old and a resident of Hoshiarpur. Saloni studied at the Polytechnic College in Amritsar and lived with her aunt.
Saloni was going somewhere on an Activa with her brother, when suddenly a tractor-trolley loaded with soil coming from the wrong side hit them and killed them. The girl fell under the trolley. The impact was so strong that the girl died on the spot. The girl’s brother was injured. Nearby people rushed him to the hospital.
Eyewitness Manpreet Singh, who was present at the scene, stated that the tractor-trolley was speeding from the wrong side and that its brakes were malfunctioning due to being overloaded with soil. He also stated that the trolley did not have a number plate and that the driver fled the scene after the accident.
Nearby people stated that there was negligence in arresting the accused after the accident. Following the incident, there is an atmosphere of anger among the people in the area.

Local residents have questioned the police, stating that vehicles are often seen driving in the wrong direction, yet no strict action is taken. People have demanded that the accused driver be arrested immediately and strict action be taken against him.
Police have arrived at the scene and begun their investigation. They stated that the tractor-trailer has been seized. A search is underway for the driver. He will be found soon and legal action will be taken.
