Due to the increasing drug addiction in Punjab, many people are losing their sons, husbands, and fathers. Recently, a young man died from drug addiction in Bangi Nihal Singh village, under the Rama Mandi police station area of Bathinda district. The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Harpreet Singh. Harpreet is survived by his wife and two young children. Harpreet was his parents’ only son.
The family stated that Harpreet died from a drug overdose. The family has demanded strict action against drug dealers. Furthermore, the family has questioned the police administration regarding the open sale of drugs in the area.
The family said that Harpreet was a laborer. He returned home from work and went out in the evening. They later found him unconscious in the village. Police say Harpreet died from alcohol consumption. They also said they have recorded statements from the family.
