On Saturday night, a man named Khajan Singh was shot dead in Cheema Khurd village of Tarn Taran district. Angry villagers protested in front of the Sarai Amanat Khan police station. The deceased’s son, Varinder Singh alias Raja, said that his father, Khajan Singh, was 50 years old and a hardworking farmer. A case has been filed against 14 people in this matter.
On Saturday, around 8 pm, Khajan Singh was outside his house when a fight broke out between two groups of villagers. Some people attacked Sukhman Singh and Jobanjeet Singh with iron rods, injuring them. Khajan Singh tried to stop the attackers.
The attackers then left, and 20 minutes later, Bhalinder Singh, Husanpreet Singh, Yadu Cheema, Tota Singh, and 11 unidentified men returned armed with weapons. They threw bricks and cut off the power supply to the transformer. Two men opened fire with guns. Khajan Singh was shot in the head, killing him on the spot.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene. A postmortem was conducted on the body at the Civil Hospital on Sunday. Based on the statement of the deceased’s son, Varinder Singh alias Raja, the police have registered a murder case against 14 people.
