Recently, on the night of May 14, a 22-year-old youth was brutally murdered in the Tehsilpura area of Amritsar. The murder was so horrific that CCTV video of the incident has surfaced, in which the attackers are seen brutally beating and dragging the youth.
The deceased boy has been identified as Kunal. Kunal was the sole breadwinner of his family and worked in a salon to make ends meet.
The deceased’s father, Pawan Kumar, said that his son left home around 9:30 pm, saying he was going to buy momos. When his father spoke to Kunal on the phone at around 10:30 pm, he said he would return in five to seven minutes. But when he didn’t return for a long time, the family went looking for him and informed the police.

The next morning, the police received news of a dead body being found. The body was identified and it turned out to be Kunal’s. The father has no information about any old enmity or the real reason for the fight.
After this incident, the area councilor and Congress district president Mittu Maidan has raised questions about the police administration. He said that a group of about 25 to 30 youths created a ruckus in the area at night. Apart from murdering Kunal, these attackers vandalized houses and vehicles and misbehaved with women. People are so scared that they have started avoiding going out after 8 pm. President Mitthu Maidan demanded that the strictest possible action be taken against such hooligans.

The investigation into Kunal’s murder case revealed that tension had been brewing between Kunal and the other party for the past few days. The dispute began over a photoshoot and some posts on social media, which escalated into violence at night.
Police reported that a report of a fight and murder was received at around 1 a.m. in Tehsilpura. Acting immediately, police have registered a murder case against Vansh Kumar and his associates based on statements from the deceased’s father. Police have begun identifying the attackers using CCTV footage. Police say they will arrest all the accused soon.
