Recently, sad news has emerged from Uttar Pradesh, in which a severe storm, heavy rain, hailstorm, and lightning struck on May 13, killing 111 people and seriously injuring 72 in 26 districts of the state in 24 hours.
This severe storm and heavy rain not only claimed human lives, but also 170 animals. Apart from this, 227 houses were damaged. Prayagraj has suffered the most loss of life in this disaster, where 21 people have lost their lives. 19 people have died in Mirzapur, 16 in Bhadohi (Sant Ravidas Nagar) and 11 in Fatehpur.

Taking this incident seriously, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took immediate action and ordered all divisional commissioners and district magistrates to identify the affected families and directed that relief funds be distributed to them within the next 24 hours. The Chief Minister has asked officials to directly contact the affected families and provide them with all necessary assistance.
The Chief Minister has directed the ministers in charge of all districts to visit their respective jurisdictions to assess the damage and meet the victims. The minister in charge of each district has been given the responsibility of monitoring the relief work so that the aid reaches the right hands.
