Kabaddi promoter Kanwar Digvijay Singh alias Rana Balchauria was murdered on December 15, 2025, during a kabaddi tournament in the Sohana area of Mohali. The shooter involved in the murder, Karan Pathak, was arrested from Kolkata along with other accused.
Recently, the police achieved a major breakthrough in the murder case of kabaddi promoter Rana Balchauria. The Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force arrested Rana Balchauria’s main shooter, Aditya Kapoor alias Makhan, from Agartala, the capital of Tripura state. Aditya Kapoor was absconding for a long time, but the police’s hard work paid off and he was caught.
It is being reported that Aditya Kapoor was traced by the Punjab AGTF with the help of the Tripura Police and central agencies. Aditya Kapoor is one of the main shooters involved in the murder of Rana Balchauria.
The arrested accused, Aditya Kapoor, will be brought to Punjab and remanded in police custody for further questioning. Officers stated that the operation was carried out four months after the murder, under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Bikaram Brar.
