Bulldozer Hits Drug Smuggler’s House in Maqboolpura, 11 Cases Registered Against Main Accused

Police in the Maqboolpura police station area of ​​Amritsar recently demolished the home of a prominent family involved in drug trafficking. Speaking to the media, Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar stated that this strict action was taken on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann as part of the ongoing campaign against drugs.

Commissioner Gurpreet stated that the family whose home was demolished has been involved in drug trafficking for a long time. The main accused, Surinder Kaur, who is approximately 66 years old, has 11 FIRs registered against her and has been arrested several times. She has previously been sentenced to 10 years in prison. Other members of her family are also in jail in separate cases. The entire family was involved in drug trafficking as part of a network.

The Police Commissioner stated that a large-scale crackdown is being carried out against drugs in the Amritsar Commissionerate. He stated that 634 NDPS cases have been registered so far in 2026, and 81 major drug traffickers have been arrested. More than 40 kg of heroin and other narcotics have been recovered. In addition, vehicles, drug money, and other evidence have also been seized.

Commissioner Gurpreet stated that drugs are being smuggled from Pakistan via drones, but the police are closely monitoring this. People are being motivated to stop drug trafficking, and thousands of drug addicts have been admitted to de-addiction centers.
