Punjab Shock: Girl Tied Up and Left in Scorching Sun by Grandmother, Rescued by Neighbours

Recently, news emerged in which a female Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in Faridkot, Punjab, allegedly tied her five-year-old granddaughter to the gate of her home and left her there in the scorching heat. Police were immediately suspended after receiving information about the incident. The police announced this on Wednesday.

The ASI was suspended after a clip went viral on social media showing a girl crying while her hands and feet were tied to the gate with a cloth.

Hearing the girl’s cries, a neighbor filmed the incident and went to the girl’s house to untie her and rescue her.

During the police investigation, it was found that the girl’s parents live in Portugal and the girl has been left in the care of her grandmother.

According to information, the ASI woman has been identified as ASI Sarabjit Kaur, a Mahila Mitra (women’s helpdesk) in Faridkot.

As soon as the video went viral on social media, Faridkot’s Senior Superintendent of Police Pragya Jain took cognizance of the matter and suspended the ASI. Deputy Superintendent of Police Tarlochan Singh said that the ASI is a resident of Dogar Basti area of ​​Faridkot.

The DSP said that despite being in the police force, the female ASI had taken a wrong step by tying up the girl and leaving her in such hot sun.

The DSP informed that taking action on the matter, ASI Sarabjit Kaur has been suspended and the case has been sent to the Child Welfare Committee.
