Recently, news emerged that four students tragically died and several others were injured when the roof of a private school collapsed. This incident occurred in the Dera Ghazi Khan district of Pakistan’s Punjab province.
Punjab Emergency Services Rescue 1122 reported that some children were in the classroom when the roof collapsed. Rescue teams recovered the bodies of four children from the debris and sent 14 injured children to the hospital. In addition to the children, a teacher was also injured.
A Rescue 1122 spokesperson stated that the rescue operation is still ongoing as there is a possibility that more children may be trapped under the debris. He also said that the death toll could rise as the condition of some of the injured children is serious.
