Recently, a tragic road accident occurred in Ramnagar area of Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. When the bus reached Khagot area, its balance got disturbed and the bus overturned, due to which 21 passengers present in the bus died on the spot. Apart from this, 31 people were seriously injured in the accident.
As soon as the information about the accident was received, the police team reached there and started relief and rescue work. Some ambulances were sent to the spot to take the injured to the hospital. Some of the injured are in critical condition, due to which the death toll is feared to increase. Along with the police team, local people and rescue teams are engaged in relief work at the accident spot.
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed his grief over the road accident in Ramnagar, Udhampur, and shared information about the ongoing rescue operations. He spoke to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Udhampur on social media and confirmed that the administration is fully alert and accountable.

“Just spoke to Udhampur DC, Minga Sherpa, to get information about the tragic road accident that took place near Kanot village. A bus going from Ramnagar to Udhampur met with an accident. Relief and rescue operations have been started immediately.”
“Just now spoke to DC Udhampur, Minga Sherpa, after learning about a tragic road accident, less than an hour ago, at village Kanote, involving a public transport bus on its way from Ramnagar to Udhampur.”
“There are fears that the death toll in this accident may rise. All possible assistance is being provided at the scene. The injured are being sent to the hospital and arrangements are being made to airlift the seriously injured. I am in constant touch with the local administration as well as our team of local workers led by Rajinder Sharma.”
