Recently, a shocking incident has come to light from Indira Nagari in Abohar, in which during the last rites of a deceased woman, her in-laws brutally beat her husband. After this, the police themselves had to perform the last rites of the deceased. The injured husband was admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment.
Police said that during the last rites, Sonu, the husband of the deceased, was attacked by his in-laws, due to which he got injured. Sonu’s one hand was broken. Police reached the spot and calmed the situation and reprimanded the in-laws who were trying to obstruct the last rites.
It is being said that when Sonu was performing the last rites of his wife, his in-laws tried to take away his wife’s body. When Sonu protested, his in-laws beat him severely, leaving him severely injured. Neighbors then informed the City One police, who arrived and performed the last rites.
Sonu, a resident of Dashmesh Nagar, said that his wife, Khushbu, fell down the stairs four months ago and was injured. She also contracted tuberculosis.

Sonu said that he was raising his children and getting his wife treated, and had even taken out a loan of thousands of rupees for her treatment. Sonu said that when he asked his brothers and sisters for help in his wife’s treatment, no one supported him.
After his wife’s death, Sonu’s in-laws came there with the intention of filing a case against him and extorting money. Sonu said that his entire neighborhood witnessed the efforts being made to treat his wife. Because of this, the police ignored his in-laws’ demands and handed over the body to him for cremation. Husband Sonu has demanded strict action against his in-laws.
