Recently, Gagandeep Jammu, former Secretary of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, was attacked in Chandigarh. The attackers attempted to kill him by shooting him, but he survived the attack. The incident occurred on the Kurali Bypass in New Chandigarh.
Following this incident, an atmosphere of fear has gripped the area. Police were informed of the incident. Police arrived at the scene and began an investigation. They are identifying the attackers so that they can be arrested as soon as possible. Lawyers are deeply angered by this incident.

The High Court Bar Association strongly condemned the incident, stating that “this attack is not just an attack on one lawyer, but an attack on the dignity, freedom, and fearless practice of the entire legal community.” The association has demanded that the police immediately arrest the perpetrators, take strict action, and ensure the safety of lawyers.
Regarding this incident, the lawyers stated that such heinous attacks on lawyers raise serious questions about law and order and security. The Bar Association clarified that the entire legal fraternity stands united against such incidents of violence and anarchy.
