Recently, shocking news has come from Bathinda, in which armed assailants attacked Abhimanyu Garg, son of senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Vinod Kumar, in broad daylight in the afternoon.
The attackers stopped Abhimanyu’s car, broke its windows and slashed the tyres. But still, Abhimanyu, showing intelligence and courage, saved his life by driving the car for about 15 km on the punctured tyre.
It is being told that Abhimanyu Garg was returning to his home in Model Town after finishing work at his construction site in Bhisiana. While on the way, he was talking to his father Vinod Kumar on the phone.
Then suddenly he heard screams and loud explosions. Abhimanyu said that a white car with a Rajasthan registration number stopped in front of his car. The attackers in the car had their faces covered with orange cloth.
The attackers tried to stop Abhimanyu’s car, but as Abhimanyu tried to reverse the car, one of the accused got out with an iron rod and broke the driver’s side window.
His father, Vinod Kumar, who was on the phone, understood the situation and immediately told his son to drive. Meanwhile, the attackers hit the car’s tire with a heavy object, causing it to burst. Despite this, Abhimanyu drove home at a high speed with the punctured tire. The family said that the attackers continued to chase him at speeds of up to 100 kmph.
What’s shocking is that this incident occurred just 400 to 500 meters from the police station, raising serious questions about the city’s security system. Following the information, police arrived at the scene and began an investigation.

Police have begun checking nearby CCTV camera footage. Efforts are being made to identify and arrest the culprits based on the registration number of the suspect vehicle. Police have assured the family that the culprits will be arrested soon.
