Brutal Attack on Police: SI Injured, Uniform Torn While Catching Drug Smugglers

Shocking news has recently emerged in which a police team that went to arrest an accused in a drug trafficking case in Mohali was attacked. When the police apprehended the accused and placed him in the vehicle, the accused, along with the other accused, became enraged and attacked the police.

The SI suffered a serious head injury, was wounded, and his uniform was torn. The SI was immediately admitted to the hospital. A video of the incident is also going viral, showing the accused beating the SI near the car. Six accused have been arrested in this case.

On April 15, at 2:15 pm, trainee sub-inspector (SI) Gurvinder Singh of Sadar Police Station, Kharar, along with his team, had reached Harlalpur village to conduct a raid in connection with an NDPS case. At that time, the police were wearing uniform and were trying to catch the accused. On seeing the police uniform, some boys present there suddenly attacked the policemen.

In the attack, Sub-Inspector Gurvinder Singh suffered a head injury and his uniform was torn. The injured SI was admitted to the hospital. The SI is still undergoing treatment. Even after the attack, the police caught two accused. After this, the police registered a case and also arrested three absconding accused.

SHO Gurpreet Singh of Kharar Sadar Police Station said, “After receiving information about suspects in a drug smuggling case, two police teams were deployed on Harlalpur Bhukri Road. When police officers tried to arrest one suspect, the other suspects clashed with them. Police have arrested six suspects in this case.”
