Fuel Panic! Long Lines, Chaos Forces Pumps to Close

Recently, due to rumours, petrol pumps were overcrowded. People formed long lines to buy petrol. Due to the chaos, some petrol pumps had to be closed.

Petrol pump employees said that this situation arose due to false rumours. They said that the supply of petrol and diesel is running normally and oil is continuously arriving. However, people are stockpiling excess oil due to unnecessary rumours, which has led to chaos and overcrowding at the pumps.

On March 26, some petrol pumps on Batala Road were suddenly overcrowded. Long lines of vehicles formed since morning. After which people were seen waiting for hours for their turn. Some people said that they feared that the supply of petrol and diesel might be cut off or the prices might increase. That is why they came to the pumps to fill their vehicles.

But petrol pump employees said that petrol is coming as usual and people are feeling scared without any reason. Due to rumours, they sometimes try to break the lines and push their way ahead. To control this situation, the pump has to be closed for some time. The pump employees say that there has been no significant increase in the price of petrol, there has just been a slight difference, and people are panicking due to unnecessary rumours.

People who came to fill petrol said that they had to stand in lines for approximately 2 and a half hours. Some people had even come from distant villages to fill petrol. They said that if the arrangements were made properly, there would have been no pushing and shoving and crowding. The pump managers have asked people not to pay attention to rumours and not to stock up in large quantities without reason. The supply of oil is normal as before.
