Recently, on Sunday, a cloth merchant in the Mustafabad area of Amritsar was attacked in broad daylight by masked assailants with sharp weapons. After which questions were raised about the law and order situation. The cloth merchant was seriously injured in the attack and was immediately taken to the hospital and admitted. The police have registered a case in this matter and have started investigation.
According to information, this attack took place on Amit, the owner of ‘Madan Cloth House’ shop in the Mustafabad area of Amritsar, at around 12:30 on Sunday. Amit, the owner of the victim shop, told that 4 young men came, who had their faces covered. They kept roaming outside the shop for a long time and then entered the shop posing as customers. When other customers in the shop took their goods and left the shop, at that very moment four youths suddenly attacked Amit with a knife and fled from there. Shop owner Amit got injured in the head and hand in the attack.
The victim shopkeeper told that while leaving the attackers also took away approximately Rs 10,000 cash from his bag. But the police denied the incident of robbery. Police say that the attack was mentioned in the initial complaint. The case is being investigated from every angle. According to the police, this matter may also be a case of personal enmity.

The victim shopkeeper stated that he has been running his shop in this area for the last 35 years, but nothing like this had ever happened to him before. Following this incident, nearby shopkeepers and residents of the area are filled with fear.
The police have registered a case against the four attackers. CCTV footage from the shop and the surrounding area is being examined to identify the accused. Police say that the attackers will be arrested soon and strict action will be taken.
