Tragedy in Kangra: Tractor-Trolley Carrying Devotees Plunges into Gorge, 3 Dead, 27 Injured

On April 10, a tractor-trolley full of Punjabi devotees fell into a deep gorge in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Three devotees died and 27 devotees, including children, were injured. The deceased were admitted to Dehra Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

This incident occurred yesterday afternoon at around 12:15 pm near the Radha Swami Satsang Ghar in Dhaliara on National Highway-503. A tractor-trolley suddenly went out of control and fell into a 100 feet deep gorge. The accident created panic at the spot. Around 30 devotees were riding in the tractor-trolley. This accident occurred due to the failure of the tractor’s brakes.

According to information, devotees from Kapurthala had gone to Himachal to visit the goddess in the tractor-trolley. The devotees first paid obeisance at the Mata Chintpurni Temple and then proceeded towards the Jwalamukhi Temple. The tractor lost balance at a slope turn and went out of control, overturned, and fell into a ditch.

After the accident, the locals present there, with the help of the police, pulled out all the injured from the ditch and took them to the hospital. Dehra Superintendent of Police (SP) Mayank Chaudhary said that the accident occurred around 12:15 pm, in which 3 people died. Some devotees were seriously injured, while some others suffered minor injuries.
