Vrindavan Tragedy: 10 Lives Lost in Horrific Accident, Families Left Devastated

A tragic incident has recently come to light in Vridavan, Uttar Pradesh. On April 10th, a boat capsized in the Yamuna River, killing 10 pilgrims. Seven of the deceased were from a single family. All the pilgrims had come to Vridavan from Ludhiana and Jagraon on Friday morning. Following this incident, an atmosphere of mourning prevails in the area and among the families of the deceased.

A boat full of pilgrims capsized in the Yamuna River near Keshi Ghat in Vridavan after colliding with a pontoon bridge. There were more than 30 people on board the boat that capsized in the river, of which 10 died and 22 were rescued.

Actually, on Thursday, April 9, around 130 devotees had gone on a Vrindavan Yatra in two buses from Shri Banke Bihari Club of Jagraon. Around 90 devotees were from Jagraon and the rest were from other cities. All the devotees were on a four-day pilgrimage and had gone to visit Banke Bihari. But 7 people died when the boat capsized in Vridavan.

News has come out that 7 people from the same family died in the incident. Madhur Bahl, his mother Kavita Bahl, uncle Charanjit, Charanjit’s wife Pinky Bahl, Madhur’s aunt Asha Rani lived in Jagraon, and another aunt, Anju Gulati, and brother-in-law, Rakesh Gulati, lived in Ludhiana.

Upon receiving news of the accident, MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu reached the victim’s family’s home and expressed his condolences. The families of the deceased are in mourning and grief-stricken.

In light of this incident, PM Modi has announced that the families of those killed in the Vridavan accident will receive Rs 2 lakh from the PMNRF, and the injured will receive Rs 50,000.
