A notorious couple was absconding for a long time in Ludhiana for fraud cases. Recently, Ludhiana Police achieved a major breakthrough in apprehending them and putting them behind bars. This special operation was conducted on the instructions of Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma, under which the police of Sahnewal police station arrested the absconding couple, Jaiinderpal Singh and his wife Manmeet Kaur.
Police stated that the arrested accused face serious charges of fraud and forgery worth crores of rupees. The couple had been constantly changing their locations to evade police, but the police search operation and the trap laid by the police fell on them and they were apprehended.
Inspector Varinderpal Singh, Chief Officer of Sahnewal police station, stated that the absconding accused, Jaiinderpal Singh and his wife Manmeet Kaur, are very clever. The police had received a tip-off that the accused couple was about to flee the city. Based on the tip-off, the police found out the secret place where the couple was hiding. Without wasting any time, the police cordoned off the entire area and arrested both of them on the spot.

During the investigation, the police found out that Jaiinderpal Singh along with his wife had defrauded many innocent people of crores of rupees in the name of investment and property. Cases have been registered against the fraud couple under serious sections not only in Sahnewal but also in NRI Police Station, Ludhiana.
Cases have been registered against the accused couple under sections 406 (breach of trust), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence), 420 (cheating), 506 (criminal intimidation), 120-B (conspiracy) of the IPC and section 82 of the Registration Act.
