Recently, a shocking incident has come to light, in which the wife called her husband and asked for divorce and the husband committed suicide.
The father of the deceased told that on 16 December 2025, Kulwinder Kaur called my son Amarjeet Singh and said that mother does not want you to work in Canada and I want a divorce, upset by this, Amarjeet hanged himself.
Amarjeet had spent lakhs of rupees to send his wife abroad, after which the wife asked for divorce, due to which Amarjeet hanged himself with a fan. Amarjeet was 25 years old and lived in the village of Garhdiwal, Police Station Garhshankar.
Amarjeet’s father, Kishan Singh, stated that he married his son on January 24, 2024, to Kulwinder Kaur, a resident of the village of Gondpur Jai Chand, Police Station Tahliwal.
After the wedding, thinking about his bright future, he spent 15 lakh rupees and sent Kulwinder Kaur to Canada on a study visa. He then sent lakhs of rupees for his education and other expenses. Kulwinder Kaur gave birth to a daughter, Eknoor, in Canda on December 26, 2024, after which she returned to India.
On 16 December 2025, Kulwinder Kaur called her husband Amarjeet and said that I do not want you to work in Canada and I want a divorce. Troubled by this, Amarjeet ended his life by hanging himself.
On the basis of Kishan Singh’s statements, Garhshankar police have registered a case against deceased Amarjeet Singh’s mother-in-law Kuljeet Kaur, brother-in-law Lakhwinder Singh resident of Gond Pur Jai Chand police station Tahli Wal, Surinder Singh resident of Garhi Manto police station Garhshankar and Kulwinder Kaur and started investigation.
