Red Alert in Amritsar! Police Seal 13 Key Points, Massive Checking Drive

To maintain peace and law and order in Amritsar, the police administration has tightened security arrangements to a large extent. On the instructions of the Police Commissioner, a ‘Red Alert’ has been issued in the entire city. Under this special operation, strict blockades were put in place at 13 sensitive and important places in the city, where every incoming and outgoing vehicle was thoroughly checked.

During this special operation, police teams were deployed at entry gates and internal intersections in the city to keep an eye on suspicious activities. ADCP Anubhav Jain told the media that checkpoints have been set up at a total of 13 places, including Hussainpura Chowk, under Sub-Division East. The ADCP said that the main objective of the police is to crack down on anti-social elements and prevent any untoward incident in the city.

The ADCP said that during this blockade, not only safety but also compliance with traffic rules is being ensured. He said: “Anyone found violating traffic rules or law, immediate action is being taken against him under relevant sections.” Along with ADCP, SHOs, Additional SHOs and a large number of police personnel from various police stations participated in this campaign.

Anubhav Jain said that the main purpose of the blockade is to strengthen the sense of security among the general public so that people can move around without any fear. Apart from this, it can create fear of the police in the minds of people with criminal tendencies. He told that the blockade is not just for one day but checking will continue from time to time in the future also. Amritsar Police has requested the people to cooperate with the police and immediately share information about any suspicious thing or person.
