In Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala, four sons of a family died from drug addiction, and now the fifth son is in a very serious condition due to the same reason. He is having difficulty breathing, and doctors have given up. Seeing this incident, the family and people of the neighborhood are enraged and are protesting.

They demanded that the boy be saved. Approximately 20 youths have died here in the last few years. After which, an ambulance arrived in the village and the young man was taken to the Civil Hospital in Sultanpur Lodhi. Due to the young man’s pulse not working, he was sent to Amritsar Medical College, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

According to reports, the first son, Jaswinder Singh, died eight years ago due to drug addiction. The second son, Balwinder, died seven years ago. The third son died in 2021, and a case was filed against him under the NDPS Act. The fourth son, Mithun, died in 2023, and a case was also filed against him under the NDPS Act. Now, the fifth son, Sonu, is in serious condition and has been admitted to a medical college in Amritsar. A case has also been filed against him under the NDPS Act.

Joginder Pal Singh and his wife, Manjeet Kaur, who live in the Pandori area of ​​Sultanpur Lodhi, also joined the protest on Sunday evening.

Manjeet Kaur said, “Four of my sons have died due to drug addiction. Two of them were married and two were single. Now, our fifth son, Sonu, is also bedridden. We fear he will die as well.”

Manjeet Kaur said that when we took our son Sonu to the hospital, the doctors said that his veins were not working, so they could not give him any injections, they could only give him medicine. The doctors refused to treat him completely.

Manjeet Kaur said that the government should help us save his life. A woman participating in the protest said that her son was addicted to drugs. He tried many times to quit, but he could not, due to which his wife left him and his life was ruined.

Kapurthala SSP Gaurav Tura told the people that they will conduct search operations in the entire area and people selling and supplying drugs will be identified and action will be taken against them.
