Recently, a news has come to light in which firing took place outside the house of Akali leader Chaudhary Shamlal in Hoshiarpur village of New Chandigarh. The police was still investigating the case of firing at the house of a property dealer in the village due to non-payment of ransom of Rs 2 crore and now on Friday, firing has taken place outside the house of an Akali leader in the same area. There is an atmosphere of terror in the entire area.
A caller called on the WhatsApp number and introduced himself as Gangster Lucky Patial and demanded Rs 1 crore. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and investigated the incident. The police found empty shells of 3 bullets at the place of firing. Police are extracting footage from CCTV cameras installed nearby.
Akali leader Shamlal is the District Mohali President of Shiromani Akali Dal B.C Wing. According to information, on Friday late night, two boys came on a bike outside Chaudhary Shamlal’s house in village Majrian near Jainti Majri and one of the boys got off the bike and opened fire. Both fled after firing.
Chaudhary Shamlal told the police that on March 25, he received a call on WhatsApp. The caller identified himself as Lucky Patial, a gangster from Kenya. Shyamlal said that the caller demanded a ransom of ₹1 crore and threatened to kill his family if the money was not paid.

Chaudhary Shamlal said that he had filed a written complaint with the Punjab DGP, Mohali SSP, and the Mullanpur police on March 26th, but the police did not take it seriously.
Chaudhary Shamlal said that if the police had taken appropriate action at the right time, this situation would not have arisen. Earlier, Shiromani Akali Dal district president Parminder Singh Sohana had also received a ransom threat and was threatened with death if he did not pay the money.
