A high-voltage drama involving a woman has been unfolding for the past 24 hours due to a domestic dispute in the village of Rureke Kalan in Barnala district. Since Friday evening, a woman climbed onto a water tank along with her 18-year-old daughter. She also took a petrol bottle with her and is threatening to commit suicide.
The woman, who climbed onto the water tank, spent the entire night there. Despite the bad weather and rain, she did not come down. The woman’s entire village is trying desperately to get her down. The police was informed about this and they reached there. The woman is an Amritdhari Sikh, hence members of the Tarana Dal have also reached there.
The name of the woman who climbed on the tank is being told as Gurjeet Kaur, who has made serious allegations against her husband Narayan Singh. Gurjeet Kaur says that her husband tortures her physically and mentally. They were married 21 years ago. Narayan Singh has been married twice before this. Gurjeet Kaur has two children, including a 9-year-old son and an 18-year-old daughter.
Gurjeet Kaur says that her husband’s relatives and family are harassing her with the intention of taking over 28 acres of land and other properties. Gurjeet says that she has obtained a court stay on all of her husband’s properties, which is why she and her children are being harassed.

When Gurjeet’s husband, Narayan Singh, was spoken to, he said that he had been married twice before but had no children from either marriage. Narayan Singh said that his wife does not allow him to meet his children and denied all other allegations.
Gurjeet’s mother also accused her son-in-law, his relatives, and the police administration of harassing her. Station House Officer of Roorkee Kalan police station, Balwinder Singh, stated that the fight was between a husband and wife, who were summoned to the police station. However, the mother and daughter climbed onto the tanker. Police are questioning both parties.
