The ongoing war in the Middle East has caused widespread devastation, resulting in the deaths of a large number of people. Indians working and stranded in this region are also bearing the brunt of this war.
An Indian worker was killed in a recent Iranian attack targeting a power and water desalination plant in Kuwait.
On Monday morning, a post was shared on “X” in which Kuwait’s Power and Water Ministry stated that a service building within the plant was damaged during the Iranian attack. This was not the first time an Indian citizen had been harmed in this war. Many Indians have lost their lives in such attacks before.
Given the war situation, the Indian government is making every effort to safely bring back Indians trapped there. Last Friday, during an inter-ministerial briefing on developments in West Asia in the capital Delhi, Additional Secretary for Gulf Affairs Aseem Mahajan said, “Seven Indians have lost their lives in different incidents during the ongoing conflict and attacks from both sides in the region. Meanwhile, one Indian citizen is missing. Including today’s incident, the number of Indian citizens killed has now reached eight.”

Last week also, one Indian citizen lost his life. Additional Secretary Aseem Mahajan said, “Another Indian national lost his life in the attack in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. On behalf of the government, Mahajan expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and said that the Indian Mission in Abu Dhabi is in constant touch with the bereaved family and coordination is being done to bring back the body to India as soon as possible.”
